LET ME IN Get's A Trailer
For those of you who don't know Let Me In is the American remake of the brilliant Swedish film Let The Right On In. The foreign version was a sweet tale of co-dependence between two young children outcast from the world for very different reasons. The supernatural elements were simply background to the story which not only made the movie work but also made the end that much more jarring. The American version looks like it might not be bad but it won't be the original. Here take a gander at the trailer.
Not to be a jerk but does it look to you like this version is going to focus way more on the whole Vampire aspect of it? It also seems like the quiet and introspective style will be sacrificed for a flashier American high action vibe. I'm not saying it won't be good, it just won't be right.

Yeah, you're right, it doesn't look that bad. But then again it's not the original & I keep asking myself, "why remake anything?" The original was so fuckin' good & here we have a film that looks identical to it. Can't they just bring the foreign films to America & make the American audience compromise. God, that's so disrespectful! Do movie execs think that all American audiences are retarded & can't read subtitles or are they worried the audiences might have a problem with the mouthing of the words not matching the language being spoken. It was even that noticeable in the original!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, is that the kid from "The Road"?
